Product Overview

  • Composition: Biocides, dispersants, anti-foulants, and corrosion inhibitors.
  • Purpose: Highly effective in preventing the growth of microorganisms, algae, mussel larvae, and marine growth that typically foul sea-chests, sea water suction filters, heat exchangers, and piping.

Application

  • Recommended for application in previously cleaned systems for optimal results.

  • Chemical dosing pump, feed tank, and feed lines should be made of 316 or 304 stainless steel, or chemically resistant plastic/nylon.

Dosage

  • Heavy fouling systems: Continuous injections at a rate of 2 ppm of sea-water coolant flow.
  • Clean systems: Dosage at a rate of 10 ppm for 1 ½ hours daily. If effective, reduce to 1 ½ hours every two to three days based on the vessel's trade pattern.
  • For 10 ppm dosage rate, feed 1.5 liters of Bioguard SW over a 1 ½ hour period for every 100 tons/hr of sea-water flow rate.

Additional Use

Handling Precautions

  • Avoid freezing and use in potable water or water intended for fresh water evaporators.
  • Harmful if swallowed or upon contact with eyes or skin. Avoid food contamination. If contact occurs, flush affected area with plenty of water and seek medical attention if irritation persists.
